Long time-no sleep!

Well, in the interest of updating my family and my 2 followers (thank you both), I've seemed to have lost some sleep the past few days. Don't you hate days like that?!
I couldn't sleep for many different reasons. As you know, I call myself an inventor. Well, while that is true...I wish I could call myself a product developer. It's one thing to have an idea and run with that, but it's a whole nother world when it comes to 'getting' your product developed. I've been doing my research and doing my emails and doing my praying (lot's of that)...but I just seem to get no where! Not sure what to do...still losing sleep over it!

Bumble Bees

About 10 years ago we were in San Diego, California for my brother's wedding. As with every trip I take I pick up a small 'trinket' (usually made by a local artist) for my curio cabinet. At that time I remember seeing on HGTV several salvage yard visits and thought that if I ever had the chance I would certainly visit one. Well, there we were and so I did! While I was searching through 'stuff' I came acrossed an awesome piece of tile w/a bumble bee on it. I so love things with a little meaning that I had to snatch it up. See, the bumble bee is the Wisconsin state insect. Did you know that states even had such a thing? Living in Indiana and being married to someone from Wisconsin I thought how cool to have a little piece of rememberance from the trip and significance of his heritage around. I'm sure someone else sees it as just a piece of tile w/bumble bees. But I love it.
So, in searching for a good blog page background I came across this one. I think it is pretty sweet!

I love how he humors me....

After 20 years of marriage you'd really think he'd get me. I wake up this morning and find this on my wall.
Don't get me wrong, I'm happy for him! He caught the big one. But, seriously, it's not stay'n there. We have a cottage 'up north' where this beauty will stay. We made that agreement years ago when we built our cottage. Any 'stuffed' animals will not hang in our 'real' house! What really made me smile was when I called him on it and he sang 'the' song: "Give me that fish...what if it were you hanging up on this wall..." that one. I have to admit, I will humor him for a few days and let it be, but I love that after 20 years of marriage...he still humors me!

Download Surprise!

I spent this past weekend working on pictures. Good bye to those strangers in my frames...I've actually added MY family to the frames I've had all this time. It never fails, I buy these great frames on sale and then place them around the house only to leave 'those people' in them. I think many people do this...but it's a running joke in our family.

I downloaded my pictures from Labor Day at our lake cottage and was pleasantly surprised by this picture taken by my son. I LOVE taking pictures and it's obvious that he has the 'eye' for a great shot. I can't wait to fill up one of the frames at the cottage w/this...

Remembering 9/11

I'm sure there are many a blogs today in rememberance of 9/11. So, why should mine be any different? All I can say is....it's just almost too much to handle!

I clipped a few flowers from outside today and put them in a vase....just to brighten my morning! I love this vase and those things that surround it. They sparkle just right! Almost as much as the small amount of coins used to purchase these sweeties.

God's blessings to those families who were directly affected by that day and to those families who serve us today because of that day!

The start of mommy boot camp!

Okay, so it's my 2nd day of blogging and all I can think to write about is exercise. Prior to our move from Indy to GB, I was involved in everything at my kids school. Let's just say that I couldn't run for the PTO board because I was the chair of many many events....oh no, what to do! I must admit that I did enjoy it. Being a stay at home mom and being involved in school meant that, well, I really never 'stayed' home. Sometimes we think that helping at our kids schools means that we are really helping them, but in fact it can take away precious family time. So, with this move last year came the need to reflect on myself and my family. A year has gone by now and I simply can't do another year of 'reflection'. It's time to get re-involved. I'll help out in the school but I so need to take care of myself first. I've signed up for Zumba classes and a boot camp through our local YMCA. I'm feeling tired but am loving 'getting' back in the social world. I am loving the inspiration I get from reading blogs about decorating, family and life! Like I said this blog will probably be a bit about everything, at first. I'm still trying to find my groove!

New to the land of BLOG!

I am 'new' to the land of Blog! I'm not sure how I ever got addicted to it, but I love everything about it. I love knowing that there are people just like me that like to express themselves through photography, creating, decorating, and then putting into words for people like me to read. I tried 'blogging' once before...not sure why I never got totally into it other than time! Last year this time, we moved from Indianapolis, IN to Green Bay, WI and it has been probably the hardest on me, being a stay at home mom. But, I'm thinking this is a great way for me to learn from other and for others (especially family and friends) to get a glimpse into our 'new' life and to see what "I've done with the place." This could be a great way for me to post pictures of my current projects and such....and yes, maybe it will put a fire under me to get those projects done so that I have something to post. So stay tuned, FAMILY and new found friends....and please feel free to share this blog w/others!
